HERD TESTING ASSOCIATION.
The annual meeting of the Manawatu Herd Testing Association was held in Palmerston North on Thursday, Mr. W. H. Gimblett pre-
siding. The annual report stated that the executive had had another successful year, particularly in regard to the increase in the number of cows tested —an increase from 8201 last year to 13,913 this season. The average cost per cow, including all charges, had been 4/-, ;iu increase of 3d per cow on the previous year. The past year had again proved the benefits of consistent testing, as shown by the production of herds that had been testing a number of years. Mr. W. J. Shailer bad again topped the list for the head average, with 393.091 b, butter-fat per cow. The following officers were elected : —President, Mr. IV. 11. Gimblett; executive, Messrs R. W. Evans, M. A motion that the name of the association be changed to the Manawatu Co-operative Herd Testing Association (Incorporated) was carried, and it was also resolved that the association affiliate with the New Zealand Herd Testing Federation, the voting being 19 to 2 in favour of affiliating.
