MANAWATU SHOW.

OFFICIAL OPENING BY GOVERNOR-GENERAL.

Fine weather prevailed for the third day of the National Dairy Show in Palmerston North on Thursday, and the attendance at the, fixture was excellent. The show was officially opened by His Excellency the Governor-General (Sir Charles Fergusson), and with Her Excellency was entertained by the A. and P. authorities at lun-T eheon. At the station His Excellency was met by officials of the association and a guard of honour was formed by the Palmerston N. Girl Guides. The Prime Minister (Right Hon. J. G. Coates) and Mrs. Coates were also visitors to the show, and both Ilis Excellency and the Prime Minister were the guests of the association at the animal smoke concert- at night.
