BURGLARY CHARGES

Invercargill, June 22

As a sequel to burglaries in the Winton district, James Brown Doake, aged 32, and Francis August Stempa, aged 20, both unemployed engineers, were charged with breaking and entering the shop of Dun- ( an McKercher at Lochiel and stealing goods, valued at £63. They were also charged, with Frederick Thomas Quinlivan, rabbiter, aged 30, with breaking into the storeroom of the Farmers’ Best Hotel at Oreli, and stealing a quantity of liquor. They were remanded for a week.
