FOXTON FIRE BRIGADE
FIRST COMPETITION FOR Me MURRAY HELMETS.
The first competition for the McMurray Helmets was Avon by Deputy Superintendent Reid’s team. The competition was a “modern motor engine, four men, AA T ct” event and consisted of running out 100 feet of hose, shoAving water, running an, additional 100 feet of hose, showing Avater, disconnecting the first 100 feet as if disabled, connecting up a neAV piece and shoAVing Avater. The results Avere as folloAvs:— No. 1 team (Deputy Superintendent H. Reid, Firemen Walsh and Newton and Driver A. Stevenson). Time 2.20 4-5 minutes, penalties 10 see., total 2.30 4-5. No. 2 team (Secretary A. Walls, Firemen Desmond, G. LockAVood, and Desjardines). Time 2.48 1-5 minutes. Penalties nil. No. 3 team (Foreman McArtney, Firemen Fuller and NeAvton, and Messenger E. Stevenson)., Time 2.33 4-5 minutes. Penalties 15 sec., total 2.48 4-5. No. 4 team (Firemen Parker, McKnight, Desjardines and Superintendent A. Stevenson). Time 3.7 1-5. Penalties 10 see., total 3.17 1-5 minutes.
The Helmets will be held by the winning team for one mouth and the next competition will be a “hose and hydrant (wet) three men event,” for which live teams have entered.
