THE OHAU BURGLARY.
The two youths who were ar rested on a charge of breaking and entering the Oliau Post Office and stealing a quantity of mail matter, were charged with the offence at Levin on Thursday, in the juvenile (Court, before Mr. P. W. Goldsmith, J.P. The older boy was remanded to appear before the Magistrate at Palmerston North to-morrow. With regard to the other lad, tli'< presiding Justice remarked that the report on his character seemed to be a good one, but lie appeared to have got into bad company. He would be placed under the supervision of the Superintendent of Child Welfare for two years, and for six months of that period he would be in an institution.
Y'csrorday morning the other lad a open red before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M, in the Juvenile Court in Palmerston North, and was sentenced to three years’ detention at the Borstal institute.
