GAS WORKS.

FEBRUARY WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during the month of February was 360,200 ft., which with the amount in the holder on February Ist 15,000 ft. made a total of 375,200 ft. ' During the month 308,800 ft. were used by consumers, 20,000 ft. at the works and there was 15,700 ft. in the holder on March Ist, making a total of 344,500 ft. accounted for and leaving 30,700 ft. representing 8.52 per cent, unaccounted for- Thirty-three tons of coal were carbonised, yielding 10,901 c.ft. of gas to the ton and producing 6 tons of coke. The receipts for the month to- , tailed £154 16s 7d, and were made up as follows:—Gas sales (lighting) £37 11s 3d, heat and power £IOO 16s lOd, coke sales £2 12s lid, tar sales £2 5s od, weighing £2 12s 6d, fittings £7 17s sd, miscellaneous £1 0s Bd. The expenditure for the month totalled £271 10s 6d, and was made up as follows. —Coal £92 13s Gd, services and fittings £24 7s sd, tools £1 17s 2d, meters £23 15s Id, printing £6 10s Od, insurance £2 11s 4d, cartage and freight 14s lid, working expenses £2 5s lOd, Interest and Sinking Fimd £63 7s 3d.
