PERSONAL.
Rev. Edmondson, the newly appointed minister for the Methodist Church, arrived in Foxton to-day. Mr and Mrs M. B. Bergin are at present spending a holiday in Auckland. The Shannon News states that Mr W. H. Gunning is progressing as well as can be expected after his recent illness and may be able to return home shortly. The death occurred at Rangiora on Tuesday of Mrs Mary Jane Seifert. Deceased was born in London 83 years ago and came out'to New Zealand C 7 years ago in the ship “William Miles,” landing in Lyttelton. The late Mrs Seifert settled in North Canterbury and twenty-one years ago removed to Rangiora, where she resided until her death. Messrs Herman (Rangiotu), and Alfred and Louis (Palmerston N.) are sons of deceased, and Mrs McLeod (Palmerston N.) a daughter. There are 28 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
