ENTERTAINMENTS.

“SPORT OF KINGS” “IN OLD KENTUCKY.”

All the thrills, the drama, and the heart-stirring emotion invariably associated with horse racing, “the sport of kings,” are to be found in “In Old Kentucky,” a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer special attraction to be screened at the Town Hall tomorrow night. James Murray has the leading role. This unusual picture has for its theme the war’s effect through bad companionship on a youth of Kentucky, and the subsequent trouble and heart-breaks ’he occasions his family and his sweetheart, is very humanly portrayed. With supports at usual pricey.

On Saturday night Syd Chaplin will appear in “The Missing Link.” Funnier than any of his previous pictures. Don’t miss it. ROYAL THEATRE. Hoot Gibbon’s followers will rise and cheer when they see “Painted Ponies,” at the Royal on Saturday. The star does some tricks on bucking bronchos that are revelations in riding. When you see him do those rodeo stunts you’ll know Hoot is a real cowboy for no Hollywood plainsman could do those stunts. He is supported by Ethlyse Clair, who leads all the western heroines for good looks. A great supporting programme. Prices 9d and 1/6, children 3d and 6d.
