NYE FERNS MATCH.

Yesterday afternoon another very enjoyable game was played between the holders (Walker’s rink) and a rink skipped by Walton. The challengers proved superior on the day’s form, and beat their opponents by a margin of six points after an interesting contest. The following are the details: —

Parkin, Mattar, Walton (s) 20 v. Scadden, Webb, Huntley, Walker (s) 14.

CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS CONTEST.

Notice has been received from the Manawatu Centre that the following dates have been fixed for the various Champion of Champions contests this season: —

Singles contest, Manawatu green, Saturday, March 10th, 9 a.m. Pail’s contest, Terrace End green, Saturday, March 17th, 9 a.m. Rinks contest (section finals), Palmerston green, Saturday, March 24th, 9 a.m. In connection with the champion rinks contest this year the Executive has decided to cut up the areas into sections, viz.: No 1, Woodville, Dannevirke', Pahiatua, Eketahuna; No. 2, Otaki, Levin, Shannon, .Foxton; No. 3, Palmerston, Manawatu, Terrace End, Takaro; No. 4, Feiiding, Oroua, Northern. Numbers 1,2, and 3 will play on the sudden death principle, while No. 4 will decide between themselves their method of play. The * winners of each section will then play off as stated above. Communications regarding this matter have been received from both Shannon and Levin Clgbs. Shannon suggests that the clubs in No. 2 area play as follows: —Shannon v. Foxton; Otaki v. Foxton; the winners to play off. Draw for greens for each game. Levin suggests that the four clubs concerned meet on the Levin green to decide the district winner. i, * In connection with the Foxton rink to be entered for the Champion of Champions contest, the Secretary (Rev. Walton) would like to .have promptly names of Foxton bowlers who are, prepared to enter for the competition.
