BAINESSE SCHOOL.
PICNIC AND PRIZE DISTRIBUTION. The annual picnic anl prize-giv-ing in connection with the Bainesse school, took place on Mr. Pearce s property in delightful weather yesterday.’ Situated on the property is a charming piece of native bush and neath the shade of the trees parents foregathered while the children indulged in a variety qf outdoor sports and games. The catering was on a liberal scale, and was provided by the parents. Visitors were present from Fox-ton, Oroua Downs, and Rangiotu. Mrs. Gray, head distress, and Miss McKenzie, assistant, together with Mr. H. Millard (chairman of Committee), and members of committee supervised the arrangements. Mr. -T. Iv. Hornblow (Board representative), presented the prizes, and in this connection no scholar was overlooked. The usual cheers by the children concluded this part ot the proceedings. The affair was one of the most successful yet held.
