HOSPITAL FEES AND CHARITABLE AID.
“Wje are collecting more fees than any other Hospital _Board in New Zealand,” said Mr. A. J. Phillipps, managing secretary, at Thursda.y s meeting of the Hospital Board. “We are the only hospital that is getting back more than a third of the amounts due from patients.” The chairman, Sir James Wilson, stated that an amount of £6026 had been received in patients’ fees for the past ten months as compared with £5700 for the corresponding period last year. This, he thought, was very satisfactory, but be regretted to report that payments for charitable aid during the past ten months were £6OO in advance of last year’s figures for the same period.
