GAS WORKS.
NOVEMBER WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during the month of November was 379,900 feet, which with the amount in the holder on November Ist, 15,000 feet, made a total of 394,900 feet. Of this 328,200 feet was used by (Consumers. 20,000 feet at the works, and there was 15,000 feet in the holder on December Ist, making a total of 363,200 feet accounted for and leaving 317,700 feet,, representing 8.4 per cent, unaccounted for. During the month- 36 tons of coal was carbonised, yielding 10,970 c.ft. to the ton. There was 45 tons of coal on hand at the ejid of the month.
The expenditure for the month totalled £270 18s lOd, which was made up as follows: —Coal £lOl 2s, salaries and wages £SO 14s, fittings £4115s 6d, tools £3 15s, general repairs 8/3, meters £1 3s Bd, printing £6 10s, cartage and freight £l 6s 6d, working expenses 16/8, interest and sinking fund £63.7s 3d. 6 The receipts totalled £l7l 3s 4a, which was made up as follows: — Gas sales (lighting) £36 5s 9d, heat and power £96 13s 9d, coke sales £l2 15s 2d, tar sales £ls, fittings £5 0s Bd, miscellaneous £5 8s od.-*-Adopted. The gas manager reported that during the month several blocked services were cleaned out and considerable attention given the the plant and consumers’ requirements. —Adopted.
