PERSONAL.
Mr and Mrs J. Rose, of Pahiatua, were visitors to Foxton to-day. Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Mason are spending a holiday in the Marlborough district. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Bauekham left Foxton to take up their residence in Masterton,to-day. The death occurred at Wellington on Sunday of Mr. M. J. Brookes, Wellington, manager of the Bristol Piano Co., aged 63 years.
The liev. G. Y./Woothvard, vicar of Karori, and formerly vicar of the Foxton parish, is spending a brief holiday locally and is the guest of Mrs. A. S. Easton.
Mr. Janies M. Ballance, a brother of Mr. John Ballance, formerly Prime Minister of New Zealand, was killed by a motor-omnibus near his residence at Glenavoy, Co. Antrim. V
Rev. Father Bowe, parish priest of Westport, and one time of Palmerston North, who went for a bathe at : the North Beach, on Thursday, apparently had a heart attack while in the water and passed away.
