ANNUAL SCHOOL CONCERT.

TOWN HALL^TO-NIGHT. The annual concert of the local D.H. School is looked forward to by children and parents as well as the general public with a good deal of pleasurable expectation. As in the past, there is every indication that the seating accommodation will be taxed to its utmost for to-night’s concert. The public do not realise the extra work —and worry that is self-imposed upon the staff in preparing and training the pupils. This year portion of the work has been undertaken by Mr. HolmesRunniclcs and the children will interpret his original eontata in the second half. The school possesses some excellent talent, and the merit of the performance should equal those of past years. The health camp at Turakina was visited yesterday by members ■>f the Wbngamu Chamber of Commerce and Mr. T. W. Wells, the well-known educationist of Auckland. Brief addresses were deliv■red by Messrs Collins (Board chairman), Wells and J. K. Hornblow. Special mention was made of the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Lethbridge, and the good work accomplished bv Dr. Elizabeth Gunn. The children sang some folk songs and gave an exhibition of old time -lancing for which they had been trained by a talented English teacher, Miss Fergusson.
