GAS WORKS. OCTOBER WORKING
The amount of gas manufactured during the month of October was 420,300 feet which with the a-, mount in the holder on October Ist 11,600 feet made a total of 431,900 feet. During the month 363,700 feet were used by consumers, 20,000 feet at the works and there was 15,000 feet in the holder on November Ist, making a total of 398,700 feet accounted for, and leaving 33,200 feet representing 7.7 per cent, unaccounted for. Thirtynine tons of coal were carbonised, yielding 10,776 c.feet of gas to the
ton and producing 5 tons 11 cwt. oiV coke. . \ The receipts' fpr the month totalled £199 6s Od, and was made up as follows:—Gas sales (lighting) £37 Is lOd, heat and power £llß 10s 6d, coke sales £3.7 0s 4d, tar sales £l7 9s 6d, fittings £7 ss'lod, miscellaneous £1 18s Od. The expenditure for the month totalled £251 8s 2d, and was made up as follows:—Goal £lO9 10s 6d, salaries and wages £4O 14s Od, services and fittings £l2 13s lid, repairs £1 14s 2d, meters £2O 2s 2d, printing and advertising £1 11s 6d, working expenses £1 14s Bd, Interest and Sinking Fund £63 7s 3d.
