ROAD FOREMAN’S REPORT.

The road foreman reported that during the month the road staff had been engaged in completing the asphalting of the road to the swimming baths, removing and re-erec-ting portion of fence between gas works and Easton Park, removing wooden water trough from Triangle, and erecting concrete trough in Harbour Street, weeding water channels and footpaths in Main, Clyde, Whyte and Wharf Streets, carting material for gas works department and rubbish from Town Hall; patching breaks in bitumen road in Park Street with “Colfix” and laying trial strip of “Colfix” in Avenue Road; top-dressing with tar chips as an experiment and, judging by the result I think we may safely continue this work on other paths of similar character. Thirty yards of metal came to hand during the month from the Manawatu County 'Council and this has been put on No. 6 Line anl Gandon Road. Eighteen yards of chips were also received from the Rangitikei County Council. During the coming month the Cemetery null be mowed and asphalt work continued. —Adopted.

TREASURERS STATEMENT. The treasurer reported as follows at last night’s meeting of the Foxton Borough Council:— During the month of November the sum of £B6O 11s 5d was received and banked as follows: —District Fund Account £846 13s lid, Cemetery Account £l3 17s 6d. The ledger balances at the 30th November were as follows: —Accounts at debit totalled £B4O 2s 4d, and were made up as follows: —Imprest cash £lO, gasworks £295 15s 9d, Hosipital and Charitable Aid £l4 6s lOd, interest £519 19s 9d.

The accounts at credit were: — Cemetery £177 11s 4d, Drainage Construction Loan £73 17s Od, General £Bl 8s 3d, Library £IOB 7s 4d, Reserves £2B 4s 2d, Town Hall £67 2s 4d, Town Hall Pictures £526 10s 4d, Waterworks £409 7s 9d, Worker’s Dwelling Loan £4 3s Od, Worker’s Dwelling Account £23 15s.
