GAS MANAGER’S REPORT.
The gas manager reported that during the month of October he had installed 1 gas cooker, attended to consumers requirements and inspected and attended to meters. Owisg to the fact that he would be lighting up another bed of retorts, so that the present bed of 6 could be repaired, he had stopped the sale of coke to enable him to get a supply on hand. —Adopted.
Cr. Rand said the residents on the north side of Purcell Street had approached him with a request for the formation and putting in order of a footpath in that locality.
Cr. Parkin endorsed Cr.. Rand’s remarks and the Mayor said that up till now the Council had experienced a shortage of metal. This was now to hand and the matter would be given attention before next meeting.
The fees for dog registration for next year were fixed as follows: All bona fide cattle and sheep dogs 2/6, all other dogs 10/-. It was decided to purchase a portable forge for the waterworks foreman.
At the conclusion of business Cr. Walker on behalf of the Councillors, extended festive greetings to the Mayor, which were suitably acknowledged.
