VAUDEVILLE AND PICTURES,
The big double bill to be presented at the Town Hall to-night includes Peter B. Kyne’s success “Never the Twain Shall Meet,” in picture forth and the vaudeville attraction Chun Yuen Tai, Chinese conjuror and cartoonist. A half-caste Island princess came into the life of a staid young man of the west, and in five minutes made him abject slave. When she returned to the South Seas he followed her and married her according Vo native law. For a while love throve amid the blazing splendour of the tropics and then the white man began to slip—to run to seed in a land where nothing mattered and no one worked. Can such a man go back to his people and begin life anew? Such is the mighty theme of “Never the Twain Shall Meet.” Anita Stewart and Bert Lytcll play the leading roles.
Chilli Yuen Tai is a real Chinese artist who presents a finished turn consisting o.f new conjuring tricks, and some amazing cartooning, including some remarkably clever double handed cartoons. Prices as usual.
“Mare Nostrum,” (Our Seas), :s Monday’s special attraction. Made in France, Italy and Spain “Mare Nostrum” abounds in romantic thrills, the like of which you have never seen before on the screen. The inner workings of a gang of International spies. All in this mighty love romance that has thrilled audiences in every State and City in Australia and New Zealand. Popular prices 1/- and 1/6. Children 3d ai]d 6d.
