PRISONER RE-CAPTURED
SLEPT NEAR POLICE STATION. Auckland, December 8. The escaped prisoner, William Henry Grant, was recaptured at 3,1 o’clock to-day at the rear of the Church of Christ, in Ponsonfyy Road.
Although suffering from an injured leg sustained in dropping from Mt. Eden gaol wall, he offered a show of resistance to the two arresting constables. Grant slept in Western Park, only a few yards from the Newton police station.
