RANFURLY SHIELD HOLDERS.

All Rugby unions which" won the Ranfurly Shield are entitled to have their names engraved on the trophy, irrespective of the length of time the Shield is held. A ruling to this effect was given by- the New Zealand Rugby Union’s Management Committee this week when the following communication was received from the Canterbury Rugby Union:—“We have had a letter from the Manawhenua Rugby Union asking us to get their name engraved on the Ranfurly Shield. Wairarapa will probably he writing us with a similar request. Before complying we wish to know whether these two unions are entitled to have tlieii names engraved on the Shield.”
