FOXTON COMBINED BAND OF HOPE.
The final meeting for this year ot the Band of Hope was held last evening in the Presbyterian Sunday School room, when Mr. Nicholas presided. There was an attendance of over fifty children, also a number of adult's: The meeting was opened by the singing of the Temperance. Hymn and Prayer. The following children took part in the programme: — Instrumental: —Piano: Ula Thomson, Joan Cowley, Rosie Munn; violin and piano duet: Maggie and Daphne Stevenson; vocal duet: Horace and Phyllis Tongs, Keith and Nancy Chrystall; vocal trio: Miriam Symons, Margaret and Audrey jßarron; recitations: Myrtle Hughes, May McKnight (2), Joan Barron, Kathleen Leech (2), Alison Baird, Ula Thomson, Joan Young, Shirley Barron, Alan McKnight and lan Nicholas. At a suitable juncture during the evening, Mrs. Peryman delivered a most interesting story “Atlanta,” and Temperance address, to which the children listened most attentivc]y. An abundant supper was provided and dispensed by the refreshment committee of the W.C.T.U., assisted by the elder girls of the Band of Hope. After supper, the children all joined in games.
