BOWLING.
Yesterday afternoon a game was played for the Nye Ferns between the holders (Bryant’s rink) and a rink skipped by Thomson. The teams and scores are as follows:—•
Newth, Robinson, John Ross, Thomson (s) 29; Parkin, Parkes, Barr, Bryant (s) 15. Considering the spell of heavy rain during the previous two days the green played remarkably well, and proved that with a combination of the cai’eful preparation it is now receiving and some fine weather, the playing surface will be ' much superior to what it has been during the past few seasons. TRIANGULAR SHIELD CONTEST.
The secretary has received intimation that the folliwing dates are proposed for the three rounds of the Triangular Shield contest; — At Levin on the 30th inst., Foxton December 7th, Shannon December 14th.
