£1157 DAMAGES FOR COLLISION INJURIES.

AWARDED against black AND WHITE TAXIS. Wellington, Yesterday. Thomas Vernon Anson, who claimed £IBO7 damages from the Black and White Cab Company Ltd. for injuries sustained as a result of a collision between his motor cycle and a cab of defendant Company’s last Christmas morning, was to-day awarded by a jury in the Supreme Court before Justice McGregor £1157. Plaintiff alleged negligence against the cab driver and defendant Company contended that Anson was on his wrong side. Anson and Phillip Ellis were ndin- along the Hutt Road on a wet night when the accident occurred, both being terribly injured and each losing a leg. Defendant Company’s counsel has applied for a new trial on the ground the verdict was against the weight of evidence.
