SEVEN YEARS FOR ATTEMPTED ARSON.
Wellington, Last Night. Wihen James Perry was sentenced to five years in September for breaking and entering he had declined to plead guilty to attempted arson at Kilb'irnie, but afterwards he did! so though he said he had no recollection of having attempted to set fire to one of the houses he had entered. He came up for sentence in the Supreme Court to-day. Mr. Justice MacGregor said that the offence was a very serious one and it was his plain duty to impose a substantial sentence. He was sentenced to seven years’ concurrent with his present term.
