JACK HOLT IN ZANE GREY PICTURE. Man’s battle with the desert, his never-ending fight to wrest a living from the arid wastelands, is the background into which is woven Zane Grey’s story, “The Mysterious Rider,” at the Town Hall Cabaret on Wednesday. The fast riding Jack Holt plays the title role \of Bent Wade, whose life is in danger at the hands of the homesteaders because of his suspected duplicity. The sequences in which he proves his innocence, at the same time gaining them back their meagre lands which they were in danger of losing, form one of the most exciting motion pictures of the year. Also “Heavy Love” (comedy), Windsor Castle and the latest News reel. Cabaret prices.
On Friday Ramon Novarro and Alice Terry will be seen in the leading roles in “Lovers,” a powerful stony which tells of the dreadful effect of scandal and idle gossip upon the lives of three innocent people. It will be screened at usual prices.
