SOME ROAD!

At last night’s Borough Council meeting Cr. Thompson reported that No. 6 Line was in such a bad state that a cream lorry had gone right through the road, which was practically a lake. He was very doubtful if a car eould be driven over the road in its present state. Some of the “pot holes” would take a cartload of metal to fill up. x Cr. Lucinsky endorsed Cr. Thompson’s remarks. He had to drive over the road, he said, to the cream depot, and it took him all his time to keep his seat in the car. The Clerk said that owing to the Council being unable to obtain the necessary metal for this road from the Manawatu County Council it had got into a bad state. He suggested that 50 yards be obtained at once and spread over the road. This was agreed to.
