MILITARY TRAINING.

SENIOR CADETS UNDERGO . INSTRUCTION. The annual training of the Foxton Senior Cadets is at present being held on the racecourse. Training commenced yesterday, when 53 cadets answered the roll call. To make the instruction as interesting as possible, everything is done on the competition system, points being allotted for shooting, steadiness on parade, drill and games, and at the end of the week * the best all-round squad is obtained. There are four squads under the following N.C.O.’s: — No. 1. —Coiporal Coley. No. 2. —Corporal Moffatt. No. 3. —Coi’poral Moore. No. 4. —Corporal Rankin. The trainees are under the charge of Sergeant-Major Ryan.
