SLEEPING GIRL BRANDED.
ASTOUNDING CRIME IN HOLLYWOOD. . NeAv York, July 27. An astounding crime Avas committed in HollyAVOod early this morning, when an unknoAvn man gained an entrance to the apartment of Miss Doris Dore, a 21-year-old actress, as she lay asleep, and slashed the letter “K” seven times on her breast, arms, hands, forehead, and chin with a razor. The man escaped.
Neighbours who were aroused by Miss Dore’s screams summoned assistance, and removed the actress to the Hollywood Emergency Hospital. Miss Dore is in a serious condition and is unable to provide a clue. She states that this was the third successive night that she had been aroused after midnight. The first two nights she was aroused by knockings, which she disregarded. She added that she awoke last night as a strange man seized her and stifled! her screams with one hand .and wielded the razor with the other. • - -*
