TEACHER DISMISSED
A COLLEGE AFFAIR
•JEALOUSY IS ALLEGED.
Wellington, July 2,
An appeal by Miss T. S. Tseheremissinoe. against her dismissal from the teaching staff of the Wellington Girls’ College to-day entered on the fourth day of its hear-
ing. The evidence showed that the Wellington College Board of Governors could have terminated appellant’s engagement in consequence of a reduction in the number of pupils, but instead had chosen to dismiss her on the advice of the new principal, Miss V. Greig, on the grounds of unsatisfactory work, thus preventing her getting a position in any school in New Zealand.
Appellant has remarkable testimonials from Miss McLean, a previous principal for many years, under whom appellant taught for eight j-ears arid-gave entire satisfaction.
Appellant alleged jealousies in the college. The finding of the Appeal Court will be forwarded to the Minister of Education.
