THE LIBERAL REVIVAL
Some quips at the expense of the Libera] Party were, indulged in by Mr. ,T. A. Lee (Auckland East) in the House of Representatives on Friday night-.
“The whole party is gone/’ he observed. “Whip, leader and rank and file. In the celebrated term of the Minister for th<? Cook Islands at the present moment it is ‘outski.’ Who is the leader? What is the party's present name? Everywhere I look I see generals and onelime generals, but no rank and! file. Which of the retired generals is closely connected with the now Liberal Party?'' Mr. Veitch had asserted that there was a Liberal revival, but there had been revival after revival. “1 don’t believe" he said “that there is any member of the Liberal Party who can say ‘Lazarus, arise.’ I believe the party is gone for all time.”
