FOXTON FIRE BOARD
ANNUAL MEETING
"The annual meeting of the Foxton Fire Board was lield in the Central Fire Station, Wellington, yesterday afternoon and was presided over by Mr F. C. Cray (chairman). There were also present Messrs J. K. Hornblow, A. H. Clerke, and the secretary (Mr. R. Rangilieuea). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs M. E. Perroau and E. Parkin.
Mr F. C. Cray was re-elected chairman and eulogistic references were made to the interest he had manifested in the administration of the Board and the invaluable services rendered. Mr. Cray in again accepting the position, whch he said he ffould vacate at the end of the financial year, briefly traced the work of the Board since its inception. He staled that the ratepayers of Foxton had displayed wisdom in constituting the Board and referred to the benefits which had accrued since the Board come into existence. He paid a tribute to the enthusiasm of the brigade, and assured the meeting that lie would continue to do his best in the interests of Foxton. —-
The estimates for the year were discussed at length and finally adopted and show a decrease on last year’s figures. It was decided that electric light be installed at the station.
Correspindence and reports were read and dealt with and accounts passed for payment.
