BOWLING

ANNUAL MEETING OF LEVIN CLUB.

At the annual meeting of LeA’in Bowling Club, 'held on Monday evening, the Committee reported another successful season. The Club championship was won by Mr. M. J. Suhan, and the junior handicap by Mr. W. Morton. The Triangular Shield, Avhich the club Avas beginning to regal’d as its oAvn propety Avas annexed by the Shannon club. The Kinneburgh Feathers (whicli were played for 14 times), Averc successfully defended by the LeA’in Club’s holders and Averc still retained by them. The membership showed a slight decrease. There Avere 39 financial members, and some subscriptions Avere still unpaid. The thanks of the club AA’ere due to the ladies avlio sa efficiently and successfully conducted the afternoon teas, the result of which had increased the club’s funds by some £l4. The balance sheet. sliOAved a credit balance at April 30th, 1927, of £36 13s Bd. The year commenced with a credit of £29 8s 3d, and the receipts with this included amounted to £162 6s 3d, the chief item being members’ subscriptions £ll6 7s. The expenditure was £125 12s 7d. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr It. J. Foss; vice-president, Mr. T. F. Gibson; secretary, Mr. W. W. Shennnn; management committee, Messrs P. Clements, junr., F. E. Parker, W, Sinaill, C. 11. Pyke, and, C. Sherwood; greens committee, Messrs T. EdAvards, C. H. Pyke and P. Clements, junr.; sole selector (in place of match committee), Mr P. Clements (Avitb power to co-opt other members should lie so desire); delegate to centre, Mr. G. N. Stevenson; auditor, Mr. W. Bull.

An honorarium of £5 5s was voted to Mr. Shennnn for bis services as secretary and treasurer during the year. Mr. Derlmm stated that a letter had been sent from the centre praising the secretary for his promptitude in ansAvering communications and for the manner in which he had attended to business betAveen the centre and the Club.

The following resolution, passed at a meeting of the committee in March, on the motion of Mr Pyke, seconded by Mr. Parker, Avas adopted :—“That honorary non-playing members may be appointed at a subscription of £1 Is.
