FUNERAL OF VICTIMS.
Wanganui, Alay 14.
The funeral of Alessrs F. . Latham and E. Baines, masters at Wanganui College, who were killed on Alount Egmont, took place on Saturday afternoon, the eirtege being a very long one. A service, conducted by the headmaster (Rev. C. F. Pierce),
was held in the college chapel, the funeral ceremony at the Aramoho Cemetery being conducted by Rev. 11. A'. Austin, college chaplin. The pallbearers were representatives if the scholars, masters, Old Boys’
Association, and personal friends. Many of the scholars, who are on holidays, came from distant parts of the Dominion to attend the funeral, and there was a large number of wreaths. CONDITIONS OF SURVIVORS. Hawera, May 14. Inquiries made at the Hawera Hospital regarding the survivors elicited the fact that Air. Taylor’s condition is still serious, while the lad Allen is making progress.
