CORRESPONDENCE
Sir.—As one deeply interested in the Soldiers’ Memorial, will you permit me to express gratitude to the Foxton Returned Soldiers Committee for the interest they have displayed in moving to make the memorial more attractive, by replacing the unsightly fence with a raised curb. The Councillors are also to be commended for their practical sympathy. 1 feel sure that the publid will willingly render the returned men what financial assistance they require to improve* the enclosure and do as Mr. Yeo suggested, place a light on the top of the memorial. Thanking you in anticipation.
