MARCH WORKING.

The amount of gas manufactured during the month of March was 304,600 ft., which, with the amount in the holder on March Ist, 15,000 ft., made a total of 319,600 ft. During the month 259,100 ft. were used by consumers, 18,000 ft. at the works, and there was 18,600 ft. in the holder on April Ist, making a total of 295,700 ft. accounted for, and leaving 23,900 ft., representing 7.7 per cent., unaccounted for. Twenty-nine tons of coal were carbonised, yielding 10,503 c. ft. of gas to the ton, and producing 6 tons 5 cwt. of coke. * The receipts for the month totalled £l6O 13s 4d, and were made up as follows:—Gas sales (lighting) £33 10s 3d, (heat and power) £76 13s lid, coke sales £l9 7s 2d, tar sale's £2O 12s Od, weighing 11s, fittings £9 7s Bd, miscellaneous 11s 4d. The expenditure for the month totalled £204 17s 3d, and was made up as follows: —Coal £Bl 8s lOd, salaries and wages £52 2s Bd, general repairs £2 15s Od, cartage and freight £2 13s 6d, Power Board £2 10s Od, interest and sinking fund £63 7s 3d. GAS MANAGER’S REPORT. The gas manager ' reported that two new cookers were installed during the month and several old services, which are no longer being used, have been cut off. -Adopted.
