CROQUET
The Foxton Croquet Club’s season was brought to a -close yesterday afternoon, with a series of competitions consisting of golf croquet, (Mrs Downes winner), French croquet (Mrs. Huntley), eomer shots at peg (Mrs Pearson). During the afternoon the president of the Bowling Club (Mr. P.erreau) presented the trophies won during the season and congratulated tlio club upon its successful year. The first prize in the handicaps singles (Mr. Perreau’s trophy), was won by Mrs McMurray, 2nd prize (•club trophy), Mrs. Moore. Points prize (club trophy) Mrs Owen. Wednesday competition A grade—(club trophy) Mrs. Moore (189$ points), runner-up Mrs. McMurray (186 points); B grade, Mrs. Barr (Mrs. Owen’s trophy) (131$ points), Mrs. Downes, runner-up (93$ points). The drawing for' a box of handkerchiefs was won by Donald Austin.
Mrs. Pearson was made the reci-' pient of a token of appreciation for her interest in club affairs, she having placed her home at the disposal of members for social purposes.
i Afternoon tea was dispensed by the committee and a most enjoyable social time spent.
