FOOTBALL.

Further practice games were played on Saturday. At the local racecourse the Foxton thirds played Awnliou thirds and defeated them by 13 points to nil. The winners were a much lighter team than their opponents, but they displayed better combination and should have piled up a bigger score. Tries were scored by Broad and Hull' (2). Broad converted his own try and one of Huffs. Mr. 'Hartley controlled the game. Miranui sent over a team which was to meet, the Foxton seniors, but owing to the Foxton seniors not being able to put in a- full team it was decided to let the Foxton juniiors take the field. The game indicated that the yellow and black juniors have some tine material and should give a good account of themselves when the competitions commence. The game at times was fast and evenly contested, no scores being registered throughout. Mr. W. Neville refereed.

The Awahou Seniors played a drawn game with County at Levin on Saturday, there being no scores. The spoiling efforts of the Awahou forwards was a feature of the game.

A special meeting of the Foxton Club was held last evening. It was decided to postpone the ball until a later date. Mr A. Walls was elected a member of committee.
