£250 STOLEN.
BURGLARS SURMOUNT ALL OBSTACLES. Ashburton, March 28. A good haul was made by a burglar on Saturday night, when about £250 in notes and other currency were stolen from the residence of Mr G. Rooke. The money was in a cash box placed in a drawer in the bedroom. Entrance was gained through the kitchen window, which was prized open. The bedroom door, a drawer, and the cash-box, all of which were locked, were forced open, the cash-box being, emptied and left in the house. The family were absent at the time.
