M ANA WAIT CHAMPIONSHIPS COMPLETED.

Mr and Mrs W. J. Robertson (Mannwatu) won the championship doubles defeating Mesdames Gambrill and Boyne (Manawatu) 20-9. There was a big surprise in the semi-final of the Manawatu singles championship, Mrs Gambrill defeating Mrs. J. C. Young after being 19 points behind —2-19. Mrs. Gambrill, was ' given a rousing reception for her wonderful recovery. Championship singles. —Second round.—Mrs Kirk (Levin) defeated Mrs McMurray (Foxton), 26-20. Semi-finals.—Mrs Gambrill (Northern) defeated Mrs J. C. Young (Northern), 26-19; Mrs Kirk (Levin) defeated Mrs Fuller (Manawatu), by default. A grade Handicap singles.—Second round. —Mrs Turner . (Feilding) defeated Mrs McMurray (Ifoxton), 26-20. Semi filial. —Mrs. J. Young (Manawatu), defeated Mrs Turner (Foil ding), 26-18. Mrs Gambrill (Northern) defeated Airs Kirk (Levin) 28—8 in the championship event. The finalists for ' the A. grade handicap singles were two Northern players, Mesdames H. Brown and John Young. The latter won the match bv 26 —19.

The only local player to receive a trophy was Mrs Moore, who with Mrs Spring (Manawatu) won the handicap doubles.
