Mr I. Corn has returned to Fox ton after spending a holiday in Auckland.
Miss Teresa Hussey lias been appointed a probationer teacher at the local High School and will take up her duties next week. Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Hornblow leave Foxton to-morrow for Christchurch to where Mr. Hornblow will attend the conference of Hospital Boards to be held in that centre early next week.
The resignation of Dr. H. P. Piclkerilf as Dean of the Dental Faculty of the University of Otago, has been accepted by, the Otago University Council, to take effect as from the end of July next. Dr. Piekerill will probably open a private practice in Sydney. A. E. Cooke, the All Bladk footballer, has purchased a half-share in a mercery and men’s outfitting business, in Mastenton, and will take up his residence there in the near future. He intends to play Rugby for Old Boys, a club which was formed last- season.
