FOXTON CROQUET CLUB.
A general meeting of the Foxton Croquet Club was held on Wednesday afternoon, when Mrs. Bryant presided. Others present were MesdamCs Huntley, Moore, Ball, Me Murray, Parkes, Perreau, Barr, Owen and Pearson.
The Levin Club wrote regarding the inter-dub matches which it proposes playing on the same lines as last year. —It was decided that owing to several of the members having entered for the Manawatu Championship tourney and also that the Manawatu intre-club matches are not yet finished, the club regretted that it was unable to get a team for Levin.
At the croquet card tournament; held on Tuesday evening r at Mrs. Pearson’s residence, the jffize winners) were: Ladies, Mesdames Pearson and McMurray; gents: Messrs S. Hudson and R. Shaw. WEDNESDAY COMPETITION.
The following are the points scores for the Wednesday competitions : Mesdames McMurray 25, Perreau 11, Owen 10, Moore 13, Parkes 8, Ball 7, Barr 9, Bryant 4. INTER CLUB GAME.
The fifth series of the, inter-club croquet competition was played at Palmerston North on Thursday, when Foxton met St. John’s Feilding, the former winning by a margin of 26 points. The following are the details: — Foxton v. Feikling, former mentioned first; Mrs MeMurray lost to Mrs. Turner, 14-26; Mrs Owen lost to Mrs Bridge, 8-26; Mesdames Moore and Pearson defeated Mosdames Awdry and Street, 26-12; Mesdames Woods, and Perreau lost to Mesdames Bridge and Turner, 16-2fi; : —-Foxton 64 points, St. John’s Feihling 90 points. MAN A WAT U CHAMPIONSHIP. Six local players have entered in the Mauawatu championship iburnament, which opens on the Manawatu green, Palmerston North, on Tuesday next. The following lire the teams': Championship singles.— —Mrs Woods v. Mrs. Spring; Mrs. MeMurray v. Mrs. McLeod; Mrs. Owen v. Mrs. Boyne. Club pairs (championship doubles). —Mesdames MeMurray and Owen v. Mesdames Spring and Corbridgr; Mesdames Perreau and Woods a bye. A grade singles.—Mrs. Woods (4A) v. Mrs- Brown (3J); Mrs Parkes (6) v. Mrs Davis (5); Mrs Moore (61) v. Mrs Thornley (51); Mrs Owen (51) v. not yet drawn. Handicap doubles. —Mesdames Owen (51) and Mrs MeMurray (4J) v. Mesdames Jamieson (9) and Davidson (81); Mesdames Parkes (6) and Garner, Northern (7) v. Mrs Spring (41) and partner; Mesdames Perreau (31) and Woods (41) v. Mesdames Brown (74) and Moffatt (6).
