A SERIOUS CHARGE
Ashburton, February 10,
In the Magistrate’s Court a young man, fan Loekland Shaw, was charged with assaulting a young woman with intent to commit a crime. It was alleged that the offence took place after a dance fit Mount Somers on January 29. The police slated that-accused had said that "too much booze” had been responsible. Shaw pleaded uot guilty, reserved his defence, and was committed for trial. Bail was allowed.
