CYCLE ROAD RACES.
KING WIN'S B. GRADE COMPETITION.
G. ALDRIDGE LEADS A. GRADE. The cycle road races, held under the auspices of the local Amateur Cycling Club, took.place last evening, and attracted a large gathering in Main Street. B. GRADE FINAL. Eleven starters competed in the final race for the points prize in the B. grade. .Wright, with 15 seconds, caught the 95 seconds men in the first lap, with R. Honour (10 minutes) two laps ahead. Honour was not caught, and won amidst great e xcitement and cheers, by half a lap from Wright, who beat H. Newson for second place by half a wheel, Chrvstall being fourth.. R. Honour was shouldered bv the spectators, after’ the race. / POSITIONS OP RIDERS. L. King, 12 points, Ist; H. Newson, 11 points, 2nd; W. Wright, 10 points, 3rd; E. Coley, 8 points, 4th; Cunningham, 7 points; R. Honour, (i points; Chrystail, 5 points; Satlicrley, 3 points; Aldridge, 2 points; Smith, 2 points; Lockwood, 1 point. A. GRADE. In the A. grade competition, 11 riders faced the starter. The first lap was very fast, Sliortt in the lead, doing the lap in 2 minutes 50 seconds. In the last lap Aldridge and Robinson came to the front opposite Whyte’s Hotel, Aldridge winning by a. quarter of a wheel from Robinson, with Huff third and P. Honour fourth. The finish of this race was most excitiug. POSITIONS OF RIDERS'.
