DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A special meeting of the above committee was held last, night. Present: Messrs F. Woods (chairman), J. Iv. Hornblow, H. Hutchins, A. Stevenson, W., H. Walton, R. Rangiheuea. (secretary) and .F. Mason (headmaster). The object of the meeting was to discuss the question of holding the annual picnic. After discussion it was decided to ascertain whether all school children are to he invited to attend at Palmerston North, during the visit of their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of York, and it so to abondon the picnic this year. The chairman was deputed to confer with Palmerston on the subject and to report to the regular meeting, when a definite dicision will he arrived at.
