THE FOXTON SEASIDE.

“If is surprising the number of people who have matle inquiries for accommodation at the local seaside (his year,” said the Mayor (Mr M. E. Perreau) to our representative this morning. Mr Pereau said the demand had Car exceeded the supply. lie expressed the opinion that it was not generally known that there are a large number of sections in suitable localities which can be taken up on a 33-year leasehold tenancy at from 30/- per year. The expenditure of a little money on such sections would provide suitable accommodation and give pleasure and health to numbers of families. This fact, said the Mayor, should he more widely known, as, owing to lack of accommodation, numbers of people were forced to go elsewhere —to less favourable seaside resorts. The Mayor said it was his intention to make several suggestions to the Harbour Board, which he hoped, if carried out, would make the seaside more popular, but the main object at present was to let the public know that sections could be obtained on terms which attract the outside and local public to build there.
