SAD FATALITY

CHILD DRINKS CARBOLIC ACID

The death occurred under sad circumstances on Tuesday evening, of Collin Ernest, the infant son of Mr and Mrs Ernest David Fergusson, factory manager, of Oroua Downs, aged two years and three months.

About five o’clock the child wandered outside into a tent pear by, where it discovered a bottle of carbolic acid which it drank. The parents, hearing screams, rushed out of the’house to discover the child in agony, The doctor , was sent for immediately, but the little sufferer passed away before hjs arrival a short time after.
