OCTOBER WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during the month of Octoljsr, was 300,100 ft., which, with the ajnount in the holder on October Ist, 18,200 ft., made a total of 378,300 ft. During the month 309,200 ft. was used by consumers, 23,000 ft. at the works and there was 18,600 ft. in the holder on November Ist., making a total of 350,800 ft. accounted for and leaving 27.500 ft., representing 7.2 per cent., unaccounted for. Thirty-five tons of coal was carbonised yielding 10,800 c.ft. of gas to the ton, and producing 7 tons sowt. of coke. The receipts for the month totalled £197 Is 5d and were made up as follows:—Gas sales (lighting) £4313s Od, (heat and power)£93 13s2d, coke sales £22 19s lid, tar sales £22 14s Od, fittings £9 3s Bd, miscellaneous £5 17s Bd. The expenditure for the month totalled £222 2s Od and were thade up as follows: —Coal £9B 5s 10d, salaries and wages £4O 14s Od, services and fittings £8 14s 3d,.t001s £1 6s od, general repairs 13/-, meters £lO 3s Bd, cartage and freight £1 17s lOd, working expenses 15/9, interest and Sinking Fund £59 11s Bd.
