MOUTOA TENNIS CLUB.
A most interesting match was played over the week-end at Moutoa between the Whitnunui Chib and Moutoa, resulting in a victory for the local club by 8 sets to 4, or 56 games to 48. The games were very keenly contested, and soma very exciting and close finishes were witnessed; more especially in the singles, in which Moutoa only succeeded in beating their opponents by the odd set in 7. The games were 32 all. Considering this was the first game of the season, the players are to be congratulated on their fine standard of play, which augurs well for the future, and Whitaunui have every chance of reversing the score when the return match comes off.
