NOVEMBER GRADING RETURNS The grading returns for hemp, tow, stripper tow and stripper slips issued for the month of November by the Department of Agriculture, is as follows: — The particulars of the hemp gra-

'Seventy-eight bales at Picton were graded super fine; 53 bales at Auckland, 130 at Wellington, and 38 at Foxton were rejected. Six bales at Wellington were condemned. The number ot‘ bales in each grade was as follows, the numbei for the corresponding period last year being given in parenthesis.— Super fine 78 (7), good fair 630 (786), high fair 3463 (4,596), low fair 2,558 (3,358), common 902 (239), rejected 221 (110), condemned 6 (25), a total of 7,858 bales, as against 9,121 graded for the same period last year, a decrease o 1,263 bales. . The number of bales graded at each port was Auckland 1,057, Wellington 2,978 Foxton 1,857, Picton 117, Blenheim 298, Dunedin 225, Pt. Chalmers 153, Bluff 1,173. , The following shows the detailed particulars of the tow graded

Thirty-six hales nt Auckland, 3. at Wellington, 10 at Foxton and four at the, Bluff were condemned. The following shows the number of bales in each grade, the number for the corresponding period last, year being given in parenthesis:Ist grade 212 (338), 2nd grade 1,554 (1,653), 3rd grade 430 (372) condemned 89 (32), a total of 2-8 o bales as against 2,395 bales graded during the same period last year, a decrease of 110 bales. The number of bales graded at each port was: — Auckland 314, Wellington 848, Foxton 282, Pic,ton 49, Blenheim 99, Pt. Chalmers 56, Bluff 625, Dunedin 12. , . Stripper-tow:—Thirty-four bales at Foxton were graded Ist grade. One hundred and eighty bales at Wellington and 40 at Foxton were graded 2nd grade, A total of 254 bales, as against 334 graded during the same period last year, a decrease of 80 bales. Stripper-Slips: —Twelve bales at Auckland, 18 at Wellington, and 04 at the. Bluff were graded 2nd grade. Six bales at Auckland, 54 at Wellington and 28 at the Bluff were passed for export. Four bales at Auckland were condemned. A total number of 186 bales, as against 280 graded during November last year, a decrease of 94 bales.
