CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR GREETINGS BY CABLE OR RADIO, AT REDUCED RATES. Cable messages conveying Christmas and New Year Greetings, ad dressed to any place in Australia, Great Britain, Ireland, Canada and a number of other countries, will be accepted at specially reduced rates from the loth to the,3oth December inclusive. The earlier such messages are lodged the more likely they are to be delivered by Christmas Day or New Year’s Day as the case may be. The minimum charge to Australia will be-1/<> for a message up to' ten words, and 2d for every word in excess of ten. The charge on messages to Great Britain and Ireland will be (id per word (with a mimimum charge of 5/-). To Canada, via Pacific, the rate will be did per word, with a minimum charge of 3/1). For reduced rates on messages via Eastern to Canada or other British Possessions, or to the United Stales, apply to the Telegraph Office. Radio-telegrams, conveying Christmas and New Year Greetings, to Aitutaki, Apia, Mangaia, Niue, Nukualofa or Rarotonga, will ~be accepted at reduced rates from the 15th December to the 3rd January, inclusive. The charge on messages to Apia will be 6d per word, to Niue, Nukualofa and Karotongo, lid peri word, and to Aitutaki and Mangaia, lOfd per word,

Mails for Australian slates, Ceylon, India, China, Japan, Straits Settlements, Egypt, and South Africa, per Maunganui, close at Foxton at (i a.m. on Friday, 10th December. The next despatch for correspondence addressed to Great Britain, Ireland, Continent of Europe, and North America, via Vancouver, will close at Fox ton on Monday, 20th December, at 12.45 p.m., connecting with the .Niagara at Auckland.
